Bath Abbey

Fashion Museum

The Fashion Museum welcomes around 130,000 visitors each year ranging from tourists to fashion specialists. The museum is located in the stunning Assembly Rooms and holds a world-class collection of contemporary and historic dress.

The Fashion Museum was previously called The Museum of Costume and was opened in the Assembly Rooms on 23 May 1963. Founded by Doris Langley Moore, a designer, collector, writer and scholar she generously gave her famous private collection of costume to the city.

The Fashion Museum Bath holds a world-class collection of contemporary and historic dress and is housed in the magnificent Assembly Rooms.

Fox Talbot Museum and Laycock Abbey

The beautiful Museum and Abbey is steeped in historical culture, Laycock has pretty old fashioned streets and is a popular location for TV and Film.

Laycock Abbey is situated in the middle of the village, surrounded by woodlands, the lovely Country House which used to be a nunnery. The Fox Talbot Museum commemorates the achievements of former Laycock resident, William Henry Fox Talbot, famous for his invention of photography.

As a visitor of the Abbey and Fox Talbot Museum you will be able to view the atmosphere of the medieval rooms and cloister court, there is enough to see and do for a whole day out..
